About Us
We opened Indy Bait & Tackle because we saw a gap in Indianapolis — a place where you could walk in and actually talk to someone who knows their way around a fish tank, a spinning rod, and the local waters.
We're not a big-box store. We don't have fluorescent lights and aisles that stretch for miles. What we have is a small, well-curated selection of gear that works, live bait that's fresh, and a team that'll tell you honestly whether you need that extra reel or not.
If you're new to fishing, we'll walk you through the basics. If you've been casting since you were six, we'll help you find that one piece of gear you've been hunting for. Either way, you'll leave with exactly what you need.
What We Carry
Minnows, worms, crickets, and more — kept fresh daily. We source from local suppliers who know how to handle bait right.
From beginner combos to performance setups. We carry the brands that matter and can help you match gear to your target species.
Lures, hooks, lines, sinksers, terminal tackle — the full range. If it clips, casts, or sinks, we probably have it.
Anchors, ropes, life vests, and everything that keeps you safe and steady on the water. Indiana lakes depend on it.
Indiana fishing licenses available right at the counter. No running around — grab yours while you stock your gear.
Ice fishing gear in winter, walleye rigs in spring, bass patterns in summer. We rotate with the seasons and the fish.
Fishing Near You
We're positioned right in North Indianapolis, close to some of the state's best fishing. The White River runs just west of us. Geist Reservoir is a short drive north. Eagle Creek and Fall Creek offer quieter, tree-lined options for those who prefer shade over open water.
Whatever you're targeting — bass, crappie, catfish, or panfish — we can point you toward the right spot and the right gear to match. Stop by and ask; we keep a mental map of the area that no app can beat.
